Forget cute. After a mother and her son crash their car, the woods don’t feel like nature anymore. They feel like a hunting ground, because Bambi is coming. But not the classic “aww” version. This one is mutated, grief-struck, and absolutely committed to a deadly rampage of revenge. The movie leans into the obvious nightmare logic: one bad day turns into relentless pursuit, and “running” becomes the main character’s personality. It’s basically an action-horror chase where the villain has antlers and a very personal grudge. Does it take itself seriously? Sometimes. Does it knowingly feel a little unhinged? Also yes. If you’re in the mood for a brutal, low-brow chase with a surprisingly cursed bedtime icon, this 2025 UK flick is your problem.

Du kennst diese Märchenmomente, in denen der Wald eigentlich ruhig bleiben soll. Hier nicht. Nach einem Autounfall gerät eine Mutter mit ihrem Sohn mitten in die Jagdzone von Bambi. Nur halt nicht das kuschelige Reh aus dem Klassiker, sondern ein mutiertes, von Trauer zerfressendes Raubtier, das nach einem doppelten Verlust Rache übt. Der Ton ist dabei eher “Hauptsache schnell weg” als “Schicksal”. Blutige Verfolgungsjagd inklusive, mit dem gewissen Humor von jemandem, der sagt: Wir machen jetzt Horror, und zwar direkt mit Bambi. Ob das alles Sinn ergibt? Kommt drauf an, wie viel Spaß du daran hast, Angst zu haben, während ein Hirsch sehr ernsthaft nachträgt. 2025, UK-Produktion.
